The TEACHING webinar titled “Introduction to automotive driving simulator” was presented by Philipp Clement and Herbert Danzinger of AVL on 16th December 2020. The event offered an opportunity for the participants to familiarise themselves with the technical capabilities of the simulator in its current form, as well as the intended adaptations for the TEACHING study. The possible variations include a range of sensors and other peripherals, which allow the collection of appropriate test data. The study permits integration of human into the control loop and it offers the possibility to test the AI algorithms in a safe, but realistic environment. The currently running design phase includes identification and integration of all devices that enable extraction of relevant data for the development of adequate AI algorithms with a highly exploitable potential.
